Kka-tuwa to shop at Makro. Keith is a member and when I saw the Makro Mail this morning, I asked him that we visit Makro Cainta, which is very near our place. We brought the twins along.
Some items are really cheap. Plastic crates are being sold for P179 each. This is a good-deal, considering plastic warehouses I called sell them for P450 each. We also got a wooden utility shelf, which was priced at P299. Uber cheap na kase if you ask a carpenter to do it, you'll spend P350 and that's labor fee only. Another great find is the plastic hamper which is being sold for only P39. The Hallmark wrappers were also a great find. They sell at P11.67 each in National Bookstore, but in Makro it's only P5.90. Super sulit! The FM radio which we got for P299 is like a toy, hehe. It is compact and lightweight. Okay na for its price. We also got 2-pc braided doormat for P50. Nothing special, but we need this at home. All these for P1,000. What a steal! :)
Makro offers free membership and accepts all major credit cards.

Quantum of Solace

We watched Quantum of Solace today at Galleria. Well, I didn't like when one scene had back to back scenes with another scene that had no relation to the current scene (what term is that?) - example: Bond chasing enemies alternating shots with a horse race scene. Though some fight scenes have real hardcore mano-mano fighting, that didn't impress me much. Nakaka-hilo. Who punched who. Who shot who. Makikita mo na lang patay na ang kalaban. Duh. Hindi ko rin na-gets kung ano ang katuturan ng story. I mean, the plot wasn't original. I was expecting something new. Plus the Bond girls were not as hot as their predecessors (sorry), sana ako na lng noh! Hahaha... Isa pa, I was waiting the entire time where he would say "Bond.. James Bond", pero wala anohhh. I never understood why Pierce Brosnan was replaced as double o seven. He was perfect IMO. So that goes to show I did not enjoy the movie, but it was a movie date with hubby so ok na rin :)

Rihanna and Chris Brown Live in Manila

It's all over the news, Rihanna and Chris Brown are coming to Manila on Nov 16 (Sunday), for a one-night concert at The Fort. I love Chris Brown music but I am not sure I want to watch the concert kase puro bagets ang nandun for sure hehehe, hindi na ata bagay makipag siksikan pa ako sa kanila unless of course dun ako sa platinum seat uupo noh! That's ten thousand three hundred pesos (P10,300) for one person. OMG. Maybe we can dine in one of the nearby restos and makinig na lng sa concert from there, ahahay! We'll see.. :)

Diarrhea with a vengeance
Vito was confined in the hospital for 6 days (Oct 30-Nov4) for Infectious Diarrhea. As in dun kame sa Medical City nag-Undas! This is his first confinement since being born. At first, the ER doctors thought it was Acute Diarrhea (lbm + fever), and was sent home with some medications. After a few hours, he had watery stool with blood streaks and he vomitted his milk. He was quickly brought back to the hospital for confinement.
Remember Carlos was confined same time last month for the same thing. He was confined for 4 days.
During Vito's first few days in the hospital, he would vomit his milk. Some babies with diarrhea become lactose-intolerant so we bought him Enfagrow Lactose-Free, but he wouldn't drink it. No choice but to give him his regular milk. Basta important that he burps after every feeding. Yogurt was not recommended. Although it has good bacteria, it is milk-based. Dairy products were bawal muna.
While in the hospital, he took the ff:
Erceflora basillus clausii (1 vial every 8hours) - this is good bacteria.
Amikacin (via IV) - this is an antibiotic to fight off the bacterial infection.
Zinc supplement (1ml once a day)- this helps reduce severity and duration of diarrhea.
Tempra Forte syrup (2ml) - paracetamol is given if body temp is 37.8 degrees and up
Calmoseptine (diaper rash cream) - every nappy change.
Eventually, his appettite returned. We would buy him Goldilocks mamon (yes, kailangan Goldilocks) and choco cereal. Balik na rin sha to his usual kulit and curious self. He would point to the door coz he wants to go out. We would walk down the corridors, with swero in tow, until he feels sleepy again. Time of the day? 3:00AM.
Vito was struck big time and he lost some weight. Infact, from an XL diaper, he now uses Large. :( Poor Vito, babawi kame!
His home medications are the ff:
Cotrimoxazole - 5ml twice a day until Nov 7, pref after meals
Zinc supplement - 1ml once a day
His stool culture showed the cause of bacterial infection was Salmonella. Damn you salmonellaaah!!

Anthony Bourdain is in Manila
Couldn't believe my eyes too when I read that Anthony Bourdain is here in Manila. Well it's about time he paid us a visit, hehe! Keith is a big fan and watches his show everytime.
Read what Chef Tony has to say about the Filipino fans. Anthony Bourdain's blog.

Here he is with Chef Gene Gonzalez of Cafe Ysabel.
I would love to snag a copy of his itinerary. Any mall tours? Hahaha Would love to get an autograph too hehe.
Oh, Bobby Chinn was spotted in Salcedo Market last Saturday. Sayang, I'm no longer in Makati.

Happy 7th birthday Ron
We attended my cousin slash inaanak's 7th birthday party at Village East Clubhouse. It was well-attended and all of our relatives in that side were present.
Ang daming food, as in tignan mo lng, mabubusog ka na hahaha! I ate cheese sticks, chicken lollipop and the home-made choco cake that my tita bakes - ay grabeh super sarap neto. I also had chicken salad, Charlie's pritson and a slice of pizza from Pizza Hut. Aside from the catered rice, pasta and the different kinds of ulam, there were also foodcarts like Buy The Bucket, cotton candy and sorbetero. There was also a seafood bar/grille that serves super sarap sugpo and tuna. Hindi ko na nga na-try but Keith feasted on them. Free flowing din ang softdrinks and beer.
Their program hosts were two clowns and one of them did a ventri act - si Kermit the Frog yung puppet nya. Pure Tagalog the spiel. Dumating din si Mickey Mau mascot - pinoy version ni Mickey Mouse hehe. Dami kids and dami din prizes, toys and ahem yung lootbag nila looks very familiar hahaha same ng lootbag from the twins birthday :P Of course, tuwang tuwa nanaman our yayas kase they were able to bring home lootbags and balloons.

Vito and Keith

Carlos and Moi

Vito and Moi, playing with a diecast blue car we got from the party.

Keith with Carlos getting curious with the SanMig Light. Oh-ow.
The kids were invited to swim at the pool after the program, but we decided to stay na lang inside the clubhouse and play with my younger cousins. It's always fun to have family gatherings. Happy birthday Ron! May the good Lord continue to shower you with His blessings. Wishing you more birthdays to come! :D
