Beat the heat

On a warm sunny afternoon like today, nothing can refresh you like a quick, cold shower. Of course, for the twins that means taking a bath with lukewarm water :P

Here is Keith, Vito and Carlos, preparing to take a bath.

We start by preparing their bath essentials - toiletries, towels, new diapers and clothes. We then rub some baby oil on their backs. We just wash their hair with a little baby shampoo. We are careful not to put water in their ears. We then wash their bodies with some liquid baby soap. We are careful they dont drink bath water - it's one of the leading causes of diarrhea in babies. We then wipe them off, put on new diapers and clothes. Tada! They smell so mabango, plus they sleep well after a bath. :)

The day with Kabuki at St Lukes

Today, I met my Kabuki sisters Polly, Dong & Chelle at Starbucks Quezon Ave branch - otherwise known as the ground floor of my office :P We went to St. Lukes to visit our other Kabuki sister Peen because her dad, Tito Rey, just had an operation to treat his colon cancer (stage 1).

Inside the car, I asked the girls, "ano ba ung colon?" Dong immediately replied, "ung kwit!". Hahaha! Polly corrected her, "tutuldok!" Tawa kame ng tawa inside the car kaya nag-kanda ligaw-ligaw na kame!

Normally, the trip to St Luke's from my office would only take about 10 minutes. But, with Dong as the Driver, and Polly as the Navigator, our trip was 1 hour 30 minutes long! We left Quezon Ave at 3PM and reached St Lukes at 4:30PM. That included a trip to EspaƱa and SM Centerpoint Bwahaha!! Our word for the day was "U-TURN".

Uhm, mag u-u-turn na ba tayo jan?
Teka, u-turn tayo ulet
Dito ba ang u-turn?
Huh, Left-turn? Dong mag u-turn ka na!!

And so, we finally reached St Lukes and Peen was already waiting for us by the elevators. She told us not to be noisy because Tito Rey is sensitive to sound. He had a successful 3-hour operation last night. Ay naku pagdating sa room, we recounted our trip and tawa kame ng tawa! So we decided to have merienda muna outside because we didnt want to disturb Tito Rey. We went to Delifrance (infront of St Lukes) who was giving out free coffee, their new product - Vodka Sputnik.

We made chit chat and updated everyone with the new happenings in our lives. Polly is 3 months preggy (Accdg to Peen, walang pinagbago sa katawan but Polly is quick to react, Oi tignan nyo wedding pic ko! Hehehe) Dong just came back from Boracay and brought two picture albums with the twins' baptism and Polly & Jayson's wedding. Peen is graduating this March 13 at PICC. As for Michelle.. walang balita except that Dr Quiroz, your soulmate, is waiting for you.. Ahaha! Hey, I heard Malou has a new commercial - Milo. Let's watch out for that ;)

We left St Lukes at 7PM coz we all have work tomorrow. I really had a great time seeing (half of) my Kabuki sisters! :) I miss the bonding moments, the bloopers (Dong baket ka paos? Oo may tonsil kse ako) - mga tipong ganyan.. Haha!!

Till next time, and hopefully hindi na hospital ang setting! :) Take care you all, Kisses to everybody I love you, mwah! :)

P.S.

Colon cancer is cancer of the large intestine (colon), the lower part of your digestive system. Surgery (colectomy) is the main treatment for colorectal cancer. Signs and symptoms may include changes in bowel habits, blood in your stool, persistent cramping, gas or abdominal pain.

Beauty and the Beast

Monday is usually our time to do major household chores, pay our bills, grocery or marketing. After going to the bank, hubby and I watched Vantage Point in Mega today. (Nice movie, by the way) While waiting for the screening time, we had lunch at Tokyo Tokyo and went to Toy Kingdom. We went to the Super Heroes section to check out their Superman and Batman items. We bought toy trains for the twins, one each, of course. We've grown accustomed to buying two of everything for them. :P

Here's a souvenir pic of me and The Incredible Hulk, or what I would like to call a modern photo of Beauty and the Beast. Hahaha! :P

Whenever someone asks me where this picture was taken, I say "I was in Singapore for the weekend"... Then I will quickly add, "Nah, sa Megamall lang yan!" Hehehe... So much for wishful thinking! ;)

The twins at G4

We brought the twins to Glorietta today - their first trip to the mall. It was more like an experiment kind of thing. We wanted to know if we can already bring them to pashalan spots, like the mall. We went to Timezone at G4.

Well, Carlos was behaved the whole time. He would just look at cars and people that passed by. Vito was masungit coz he wasn't able to sleep. He would grab things he could reach. They both didn't want to ride the stroller, maybe because the mall was new to them and there were so many people. So, no choice but to carry them around. Oh my Vito is heavy, I think I broke my arm... :P (The other yaya is on day off).

By the way, it's the first time I saw G2 after the explosion, and man, it's a wreck. I remember buying my kikay stuffs at Goldcrest. Now, it's gone. Bye bye..

In the end, we agreed that the twins are not yet ready for the mall. We'll just come back on their 1st birthday ;)
